It was Earth Week as well as the 5th Reading Festival Week. In celebration of Earth Day, we did not just read books on that special day, and not being nice to our earth for just one day or one week. They should be long-term practices. Our PYP students know this very well.
The students are given time to read for at least 30 minutes each day. Sometimes, they would share their favorite books to their friends at the beginning of the class. Below, Khan from K2 has finish his work in class, he tried to read a book for his friend.
They watched the video《大自然在说话》 in my Chinese class and shared their opinion on Why do we need to protect the earth and how. I am really impressive on their great work. Sometimes we really need to learn from the children. I still can remember last year when we went on an excursion, G1 students found some bottles and paper on the grass, they picked all these rubbish instead of passing by.
