The last five weeks of online learning had been a mixture of challenges, stress, joys and satisfaction for K1 students, parents and teachers.
I am grateful that most of my parents were very supportive and cooperative in helping their children to complete and submit their assignments promptly. In the process of guiding their children, the parents reflected and shared with me their challenges At the same time, they became more aware of the strengths and weaknesses of their children.
My weekly assignments consist of three parts: daily oral practices, UOI/language assignments and mathematics (simple addition). The daily oral practices include 100 frequent sight words and phonics. The UOI/Language assignments composed of topical videos, vocabulary, reading passages as well as handwriting practices.
Over the weeks, on top of maturing and improving their handwriting, the students are able to write short sentences with one finger spacing. The little ones can blend and recognise words, and even read ‘The Cat Sat’, ‘Sam has Ham’ and ‘Dan Ran’ fluently. I am proud of their achievements! They are my champions! A big thumbs up for the K1 students and parents!
